Having a professionally curious team supporting and challenging your school is a strength and I am passionate about coaching individuals, committees or full governing boards to become a great asset to the leadership team.

Training and coaching doesn't just have to be expensive online courses, there is a whole host of opportunities that can be free, or for little cost. Having been a governor myself for many years, and having worked in governance for almost ten years, I understand the role and the demands of the responsibilities. I have also been a school business manager and held other roles within education that enable me to have a multifaceted understanding of school governance.

I work with Governorhub, through which you receive access to "Knowledge" (previously known as The Key for Governors), which is a great online resource of reading materials, templates, guidance and online training sessions. I also use the document and board organisation areas of Governorhub, meaning meeting papers and guidance notes are easily accessible. The Governorhub noticeboard is a fantastic way to keep in touch and have discussions to organise and agree meetings, training etc.

The agendas and documentation provided are simple, jargon free and easy to follow. Minutes can be typed during the meeting and saved to a secure OneDrive / GovernorHub, meaning there is no need to take away handwritten notes or confidential information from the meeting, providing you with peace of mind in regards to GDPR. Handwritten minutes are also an option should you prefer that. Any papers that have been necessary to retain are destroyed at the appropriate time through a registered confidential waste company.

The GovernorHub is an excellent GDPR compliant tool for document storing and sharing. It provides an easy to use web based system for governors to access files, a specific calendar, information on the make up of the governing body and more.
